At YS Badminton, we are proud to be affiliated with QBA and BBA, and are committed to growing the sport within our community. We strive to create a welcoming environment where players of all ages and skill levels can develop their game, build confidence, and become better athletes. Whether you’re picking up a racquet for the first time or looking to compete at a higher level, our club offers the support, coaching, and community to help you thrive.
Becoming a registered member provides:
- Eligibility to compete in QBA/BBA sanctioned tournaments and interclub competitions
- Eligibility to represent Queensland in national Badminton Australia tournaments
- Insurance coverage under the association’s player insurance policy
- Participation in graded fixtures and club competitions
- Support and development within an affiliated badminton club
Membership Fees:
- Adult Competition Membership $75/year
- Junior Competition Membership $65/year (juniors are players under 18 years of age)
What Is My Grade?
YS Badminton is all about fair play and sportsmanship. Understanding your grade ensures you compete in the right level and helps maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. Entering events at the wrong grade can lead to disqualification, so it’s important to know where you fit. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player, your grade reflects your experience and ability, allowing you to challenge yourself while keeping the competition fair.
Open Grade – Competes at national or international level tournaments
A Grade – High-level players with strong skills, consistency, and tournament experience
B Grade – Intermediate players with good fundamentals and rally consistency
C Grade – Developing players building consistency and confidence in matches
D Grade – Entry-level players, including beginners and developing juniors gaining match experience
