YS Badminton
OUR STORY & COMMITMENT
YS Badminton was officially founded by Yi Suen Kaw in 2018 in Brisbane. Over the past five years, Suen has led the development of a dedicated team of passionate and qualified badminton coaches. Together, they have provided private sessions for individuals, as well as group training for both adults and juniors, catering to all ages and skill levels.
We also host weekly social sessions, bringing together our students and badminton lovers from the community. Our team’s unwavering commitment is to share the highest level of expertise in badminton techniques and skills, helping our students enhance their proficiency and achieve their goals. Many of our players have gone on to participate in events such as the Queensland Badminton Association competitions and other higher-level state events.

At YS Badminton, “Shine with your unique badminton” is not just a slogan, but our core teaching philosophy:
- 羽 (Yu) – Badminton: Rooted in the spirit of the game, we pass on both professionalism and passion.
- 你 (Ni) – You: We honour the individuality of each student, shaping our approach to match their unique strengths and needs.
- 炫 (Xuan) – Shine: Through scientific training and innovative programs, we empower students to break limits and shine on the court.
- 球 (Qiu) – Sport: Returning to the essence of sport—health, joy, and growth.
Together, these four characters express our mission: helping every player unlock their potential, embrace who their are, and shine through badminton.

CONTRIBUTION TO OUR COMMUNITY
Throughout the past years, YS Badminton has been immensely grateful for the trust placed in us by our students and the ongoing recognition and support from the community. Notably, we had the privilege to coach the Badminton team at Brisbane Girls Grammar from 2019 to 2020, which led to two championship victories.
We’re also proud to share that in 2023 and 2024, Suen was invited to coach the University of Queensland (UQ) Badminton National Team. In this role, Suen is committed to enhancing the skills and techniques of the student-athletes, preparing them to compete in high-level tournaments across Australia.
