YS Badminton proudly supports the 2026 Lions Club 3rd BNE Zhonghua Cup, a two-day charity badminton tournament that brings together competition and community impact in Brisbane.
The event takes place on 9–10 May 2026 at Sky Badminton, running from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day. In addition, players will compete for a total prize pool of $5,000, which adds excitement to the tournament while supporting a greater cause.
Competitive Play Across All Levels
The tournament features five event categories:
- Men’s Singles (MS)
- Women’s Singles (WS)
- Men’s Doubles (MD)
- Women’s Doubles (WD)
- Mixed Doubles (XD)
To ensure fair competition, the tournament is divided into five grades: Open/A, B, C, D, and E.
Strong Community and Charity Focus
The Lions Club BNE Zhonghua drives the tournament’s charitable mission, supporting several important community organisations.
These include:
- Story Dogs Brisbane – using the power of dogs to help children improve literacy and reading confidence.
- Childhood Cancer Foundation – providing medical funding and support for families affected by childhood cancer.
- Diabetes Foundation – funding research, improving patient care, and supporting those living with diabetes.
- Variety – the Children’s Charity – assisting children who are sick, disadvantaged, or living with special needs.
- Hearing Dogs Australia – training and providing hearing dogs and support services for individuals with hearing impairments.
- Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Southport – a highly respected volunteer marine rescue service protecting Queensland’s coastline.
