This past Saturday, we hosted our highly anticipated Junior Internal Competition and Parents Day, marking the culmination of our Term 2 Junior Training Program — and what a celebration it was!
With over 90 enthusiastic young players and more than 100 supportive parents and family members in attendance, the five-hour event was filled with non-stop action, energy, and a shared passion for the sport of badminton.
Across three competitive levels, our juniors showcased the skills they’ve been developing over the past 10 weeks — from refined footwork and improved racquet technique to strategic gameplay and, most importantly, great sportsmanship. For many, it was their first taste of a match-style environment, and they rose to the occasion with confidence and determination.
“We’re glad to see our players had such an opportunity to put their skills to the test and share their progress with their parents,” said Head Coach Eugene. “It’s definitely something we would like to have again in the future.”
Parents Day provided a valuable opportunity for families to not only watch their children in action but also engage with our coaching team. Coaches were on hand to offer feedback, answer questions, and share insights into each player’s development and potential next steps.
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this event possible — from our dedicated coaching staff and hardworking admin and media teams to our enthusiastic volunteers, generous sponsors, and of course, the supportive parents and families. Your collective efforts are what bring the YS Badminton community to life and help our young athletes thrive both on and off the court.
As we wrap up Term 2, we’re excited to keep the momentum going with our upcoming Junior Holiday Bootcamp — a great chance for young athletes to stay active, refine their skills, and have fun over the school break.
To all our junior players: you’ve made us proud. Let’s keep building on what you’ve started — and we’ll see you on court again soon!
