Congratulations to our players Charlotte, Minh, Leo and Jason who competed at the 2026 Australian AirBadminton Championships this past weekend.
The national event brought together players from across Australia, as well as competitors from the Cook Islands, for a weekend of high-level outdoor competition.
AirBadminton is the outdoor format of badminton, played on a modified court with a purpose-designed shuttle. The sport also features the unique Triples format, adding another dimension to the game and requiring players to work closely together.

A special thank you to Monash Badminton Club for joining with YS Badminton to form Monashbaddy x YS Badminton for the team event.
The combined team of Charlotte, Minh and Leo from YS Badminton, together with Alice, Pat and Amy from Monash, put together a strong performance to finish runner up in the national team event. It was a great opportunity for players from both clubs to come together and compete as a team at the national level.
A Successful Weekend
We are proud of all four players who represented YS Badminton at the championships.
At the heart of AirBadminton is the Triples (3v3) event, where teamwork and communication are essential. Players must work together, support each other and adapt throughout the match.
We are especially proud of Charlotte, Minh and Leo, who fought hard in the Triples final against the Cook Islands team. The match went all the way to three sets to decide the champion, with both teams pushing each other throughout a closely contested final.
More importantly, the weekend reflected many of the values we want to build at YS Badminton — working together as a team, supporting and encouraging one another, competing with a positive attitude and, most importantly, having fun along the way.
Congratulations to Charlotte, Minh, Leo and Jason on their performances at the 2026 Australian AirBadminton Championships. We look forward to seeing our players continue to challenge themselves and embrace new opportunities across both badminton and AirBadminton.
